August 28th

These first two pictures are from a photo shoot from last week that didn't make last week's blog because there were so many good pictures that we exceeded the limit that the blog would let us post.

Dylan smiles for the camera shortly before going to bed on Thursday night.

Saturday morning, Dylan checks out his toys while hanging out with Mommy.

Saturday night, Dylan models his new outfit that Mommy bought him that day. Dylan has a re-shoot scheduled for Tuesday for some professional photos, and he will be wearing his new outfit. His first appointment on Thursday didn't work out so well. He had been happy all day until he had to pose for the camera.

This morning, Dylan went on a walk with Daddy. He rode in his stroller like a big boy for the first time...no infant seat attachment required! He did great and eventually fell asleep on the walk.

Dylan checked out one of his giraffes while Daddy was in the shower.

Mommy Goes Back To Work

On Saturday night, Dylan played with his new toy. He really liked the one that his friend Ava had, so Mommy and Daddy bought one just for him.

Sunday morning, Dylan poses for the camera. Aunt Feebs came down to play, and Chris brought over some steaks and other snacks for a barbeque. Marilyn Trefry and Justin Bingham were over from Spokane and stopped by to visit Dylan.

Sunday evening, Dylan went with Mommy, Daddy, and Aunt Feebs to the Guns and Hoses barbeque. It was a big party thrown by the police chaplain, and it included both police officers and firefighters from Arlington.

Dylan tries Aunt Feeb's sunglasses on for size. They were a little bit too big!

On Monday, Mommy went back to work. It was the longest she had been away from Dylan. Daddy and Dylan were both very pround of how well she did. Grandma Helen and Aunt Feebs watched Dylan for the day, because Daddy had to work on Monday, too. Yesterday, Daddy had to work. He met Mommy after work, and she had her nails done. Dylan, Daddy, and Mommy then joined Kevin (Mommy's nail guy) and his wife Stephanie for Chinese food.

Today is the second day that Mommy is back at work. Dylan and Daddy have been hanging out at home, and Dylan has been a very good boy. Here he poses for another photo shoot.

Dylan's Exersaucer

Gordon, Dawn, Kristina, and Kimberly came to visit us on Tuesday. On Tuesday evening, Dawn and Kimberly went to Target with us. Daddy and Mommy were looking for an exersaucer, because Dylan had tried one out over the weekend, and he really loved it. The pictures were taken yesterday after Daddy assembled the exersaucer. The video was from this morning. Dylan really likes it and showed off his new ability to reach for things.

Dylan goes to the Fair....

Mommy and Daddy took me to the Lynden Fair on Monday night. Aunt Feeb, Uncle Kyle, Uncle Timber, Gramma Helen and Papa Rob all went too!!!
Mommy had curly fries and a philly cheesesteak for dinner. Daddy had a cheeseburger and shared Mommy's curly fries. I drank a bottle while they waited in long lines for their food. The curly fries looked so good...maybe next year I can share with them.
Mommy and Daddy wanted to show me all the animals at the fair. First we saw the cows. They are so big. And not too smelly. Then we saw the pigs. They are really smelly. And noisy. We also saw llamas and goats. I wanted to see the giraffes but Mommy says we have to go to the zoo to see them.
Mommy and Aunt Feebs, Uncle Kyle, Uncle Timber and Papa Rob all went on the "Orbitor." I watched with Daddy and Gramma Helen. I wanted to go on the carousel but maybe next year.
Mommy says I was such a good boy the whole time at the fair. She says I can come back next year when I'm bigger so I can pet the animals and maybe have some curly fries. Daddy says I should look forward to the elephant ears. He says they are the best!
Daddy says I was 10-10 goodnight. That's what he says when he gets off work to the ladies on the radio in his police car. I can't wait til next year at the fair. By then it will probably be Mommy and Daddy sleeping after trying to keep up with me :)

Mommy's first attempt to publish a blog...

Me and Daddy had a photoshoot while Mommy went grocery shopping. We had some friends over for dinner and Mommy had to pick up stuff for dinner. Jen and Rob, Mommy and Daddy's friends, brought over their 16 week old daughter, Ava. Mommy says she is my first girlfriend. I am five weeks younger but much bigger as you can see :) I think she is so cute!!

Here Baby Ava is so sweet she is sharing her "winkle" toy with me.

Baby Ava already rolls over.... she was trying to teach me how. I told her when you weigh more it's harder to roll. We had so much fun playing. We can't wait until our next date!!!

Dylan's Playdate and Daddy Goes Back to Work

On Friday, Dylan joined Mommy and Daddy on a trip down to the Alderwood Mall. Dylan visited some of Mommy's co-workers, then joined in on some shopping. Mommy had a few outfits that were too small for Dylan that she exchanged for some frog pj's and some horse pj's. Then the three of us met Candice and Dave in Burlington for dinner.

Saturday morning, our friends Ira, Tracy, and Landon came up from the Issaquah area. Ira was my roommate in college for two years. Ira and Tracy had an addition to their family about six months ago. Lynette and I got to meet Landon for the first time just before Dylan was born. Landon and Dylan were having great fun together on Saturday during their first play date.

Amy and Dirk (aka Dierks, aka Beags) came down Saturday afternoon. Harley and Dirk wore each other out running and wrestling in the backyard. Saturday evening, Amy watched her favorite nephew so that Mommy and Daddy could go on a date.

On Sunday, Dylan joined his aunt and his Mommy and Daddy on a trip down to Bellevue. Mommy and Daddy test drove a car at a dealer there, and then the entire gang went to the mall. We were back home by about 6PM to get ready for a BBQ at 7PM. We had a few friends over to mark the end of Daddy's paternity leave from work.

The night before Daddy went back to work it was Dylan's first night in his big boy crib. I think it was most traumatic for Mommy. He did great sleeping all night! 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. He has also been sleeping through the night ever since. Guess we should've moved him to his own bed sooner!!!

4:30 came really early on Monday morning. The alarm went off and it was time for me to get ready for work. My shift started at 6AM, and luckily we went to coffee right away, because it was a busy day. I took seven new case reports during my shift (five new cases in a day is a busy day, and I have only topped seven cases one time in four years when I took eight in one day). The cases included three hit & run accidents, three burglaries (one commercial and two residential), and one vehicle prowl.

Tuesday was a bit slower, and I was able to get caught up on paperwork. Dylan and Mommy met Daddy and Officer McQuoid for coffee in the afternoon. Dylan became a junior officer, and has the sticker to prove it!

On Wednesday, the family drove the Jetta down to Bellevue where they met back up with John Leal. He works for Acura of Bellevue and is the father of one of Lynette's clients. We were anticipating having to dump a lot of money into the Jetta in the next year, so we traded it in for a new car. John helped us get a really good deal on it.

We then met up with Tuan in Bellevue for dinner. Tuan got to see his new "nephew" for the first time. We had a great time catching up with Tuan, and he was still curious about what Grandpa Dave was up to.

August 4th

On Tuesday morning, Dylan poses for the camera. Dylan went with Mommy and Daddy to Brad and Janet's house in Lynnwood for dinner that night (friend's of Mommy and Daddy).

On Wednesday morning, Dylan helped Mommy and Daddy take Grace and Harley to the Stillaguamish River in Arlington. Dylan then went to Green Lake in Seattle to ride along the trail in his stroller. In the picture above, Dylan smiles at Mommy while watching Daddy play tennis with friends Chris and Marissa in the Green Lake area.

On Wednesday night, Dylan hangs out on the couch.

He tries out the new rattling booties that Daddy bought him at Target. They look goofy but are fun.

Friday morning, Dylan gets in his "johnny jump up" for the second time. He plays in the bathroom doorway while Mommy and Daddy get ready for the day.
