Disney Land & Sea World Trip, Lynette's 30th Birthday
On Sunday (October 26th), we headed to the Bellingham airport for our flight to San Diego. In this picture, Dylan was waiting to board the plane.
We flew Allegiant Air (Lynette's airline) and arrived about 2.5 hours later. Dylan watched a movie for part of the trip.
We picked up our rental car and drove to our hotel in Anaheim (about a 1.5 hour drive from San Diego). After checking in and dropping off our luggage, we headed to Disney Land for a few hours before it closed. The first thing Dylan wanted to do was ride the train. We were waiting to board the train in this picture.
That first evening, we rode the Storybook Land Canal Boats, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and the Mad Tea Party.
On Monday morning, our first stop was Mickey's Toontown. Dylan loved driving all of the characters' cars.
And Pluto! Dylan couldn't quite pronounce "Pluto," so it comes out "Kudo." Dylan rode Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin, and he rode Gadget's Go Coaster twice.
Dylan was mesmerized by a statue outside the Tiki Room. Half way through the show inside, Dylan had a bit of a break down and we had to head back to the hotel for a nap.
We returned to Disneyland for a few hours in the evening. Other rides that Dylan enjoyed that day were the Casey Jr. Circus Train, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Peter Pan's Flight, Pinocchio's Daring Journey, and Pirate's of the Caribbean. In this picture, Dylan got a Mickey Mouse flashlight wand, and he was very proud of it.
On Tuesday morning, we went to a character breakfast at 7:20 that featured Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Cinderella, and others. We then had early admission into the park at 9:00. We rode the Astro Orbitor and the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. In this picture, Dylan was intrigued by a large marble floating on water in Tomorrowland.
After Dylan and Daddy rode the Matterhorn Bobsleds, we went to Critter Country where Dyland met Tigger...
There were many Halloween decorations up at Disneyland. Dylan posed for a picture in a pumpkin patch.
We went to one of the Mad Hatter shops and bought Dylan the Mickey ears that he had been talking about for the past month. He wore them for about twenty seconds and hasn't worn them since.
After a busy morning, Dylan took a nap in his stroller. Mommy and Daddy checked out California Adventure while pushing the stroller along.
Just before leaving Anaheim, Dylan met Mickey Mouse for the second time. We drove from Anaheim back to San Diego. We left at about 4:00 PM, and it took us less than 1.5 hours to make the 85 or 90 mile trip. We were pleasantly surprised since the same distance through Everett and Seattle would have taken significantly longer.
On Wednesday morning, we headed to Sea World. We went to a Dolphin show first, and we then headed to the Sesame Street Bay of Play (inside Sea World). Dylan met Zoe from Sesame Street.
After seeing a Pets show and the Shamu show, we headed back to the hotel for a nap. We met up with Dave's high-school friend Shane, his wife Amy, and their son Tyler. The Sullivan family lives in San Diego, and they showed us around Old Town. We had dinner together at a really good Mexican restaurant. After returning to the hotel, Dylan "drove" the rental car in the parking lot.
Dylan discovered that he could climb onto a ledge under the bathroom sinks in the hotel room. He spent a lot of time playing with the water and brushing his teeth.
Thursday was Lynette's 30th birthday! We had breakfast at the Red Marlin, the restaurant at our hotel. This picture was the view from our table.
Lynette and Dylan posed for a picture at breakfast.
Dylan and Dave had given Lynette some Tiffany's money for her birthday. We went to a mall about ten minutes away from our hotel where Lynette picked out her birthday present. We stopped for a Starbuck's break, and Dylan fed half of his muffin to the birds at the out-door mall.
