July 24th

Dylan hangs out in his play yard on Saturday morning.

Taryn takes a turn rocking the baby.

On Sunday, Dylan hangs out at Lake Sammish in Bellingham.

We had a very nice weekend. On Friday evening, we drove up to Birch Bay to join a barbeque with the James and Wright families. We then met up with Rob and Jamie Soumas and family on Friday evening. They stayed with us on Friday and Saturday nights. On Saturday, Grandma Helen came to watch Dylan and Ciara so that Rob, Jamie, Lynette, and I could go to the Mariners game. On Sunday, we went back to Bellingham. We went to Lake Sammish for a bit, and then had dinner at Papa Rob's and Grandma Helen's. Tim and I went on a quick Harley ride and later played tennis.

Today, we went to Dylan's two-month check-up. He weighed 15 lbs and 8.5 ounces, and he was still in the 95th percentile for weight.

I then drove down to Porltand and picked up Grace and Harley. We drove back up and stopped at Rodondo Beach near Federal Way. Grace and Harley did a little swimming, and then we completed the trip. Grace and Harley were excited to check out their fenced yard. They also explored the kitchen and family room area (the rest of the house was off limits). They settled down to bed well, but I'm sure they miss their family in Portland.

July 20th

On Friday evening, I (Dave) set off with Rob, Timber, and Dave for a Harley ride. They met me in Marysville around 5, and we headed to Leavenworth. We stopped for dinner, then rode to Yakima where we spent the night. On Saturday, we rode along the Columbia River on the Washington side, and then cut down to Mount Hood. We ate lunch at the base of the mountain, then headed west on highway 26 to my parents' house. We stopped for a little over an hour, and then rode to Astoria. We crossed the Astoria bridge and traveled north to Long Beach. We stayed there Saturday night, and on Sunday we headed north on highway 101 along the Hood Canal. We took the Port Townsend ferry to Fort Casey, and rode through Deception Pass. I arrived home Sunday after 6 PM and had traveled over 820 miles.

Monday and Tuesday were spent lying around the house, partly because I came home with a fever on Sunday. On Wednesday we did some grocery shopping and barbequed salmon with Grandpa Rob's recipe. It turned out very nice.

Today, Mommy did some more grocery shopping while Dylan and Daddy stayed home. Daddy had to wait for the Comcast technician to come by with an updated modem. Now, we are about to have our next-door neighbors, Roman and Leanne, come over for dinner. We have only talked with them a few times, but Roman's sister is a dispatcher at SNOPAC which provides service for our department, so we heard about the couple before we ever met them.

Dylan's Chair

The last few days have been pretty relaxed. We have found ourselves at home for most of each day. On Wednesday, Lynette dug out a chair from Dylan's closet. He had not tried it out yet, and we were curious to see how he would like it. The last two pictures are of Dylan in his chair, and you can see that he liked it quite a bit.

More Dylan

This first picture was taken on Saturday up in Bellingham. We met up with most of the gang up there and went to Seafest. It was a small festival at the Bellingham harbor.

Here, Dylan is hanging out with his Mommy.

He has given us a few smiles in the past few days, and he tries to give us another for the camera.

Dylan loves his carseat.

These last few pictures are from a photoshoot on Monday. Monday was another lazy day. Dylan went with Mommy to hang out with a couple of her friends. Daddy went to the gym. Later, Dylan and Mommy took a long nap and Daddy did some grocery shopping.

July 8th

Yesterday was a nice, relaxing day. We went down to Green Lake in the afternoon and took a lap around the lake. Dylan did great in his stroller. He was awake most of the time and was just taking in the view. We then headed to Duke's Chowderhouse and had dinner. Dylan was awake for most of dinner and was very good. He let us eat our entire dinner.

Today (Saturday) we are headed up to Bellingham to hang out with the gang.

July 7th

In this first picture, Dylan demonstrates his favorite sleeping position, with his hands up.

Dylan checks out Uncle Timber's Harley on July 2nd.

Dylan looks over his Grandma Helen's shoulder as Mom watches in the background.

On July 3rd, Dylan decides to wear his Harley shirt.

He also decides to use his Harley blanket.

Here, Dylan watches tv with Mommy and Daddy before bedtime.
