The Weekend

On Friday, we headed out to Mutiny Bay on Whidbey Island. We arrived at the ferry terminal in Mukilteo, and we were immediately loaded onto the ferry. After we drove on, the workers closed the gate, and we realized we were the last car that made it on the ferry that trip! We spent most of the afternoon and evening hanging out with Stealth, Badass, Dave, Gayle, and Melissa. Melissa gave us a blanket that she had made for Dylan. We thought that was very sweet of her!

Sunday had several special meanings attached to it. Sunday was our first Wedding Anniversary and was my first Father's Day. I woke up and received a present from Dylan. He bought me a new tennis racket (I'm guessing his Mommy helped him pick it out).

We drove up to Bellingham on Sunday and met at a restaurant at the Bellingham harbor to celebrate Tim's birthday. We discovered that morning that we were able to leave by 10 AM if we got out of bed at 6 AM. Later in the afternoon, we left Dylan with Grandma Helen and headed out to Semiahmoo, the location of our wedding one year earlier. We had a nice dinner there, and then drove along the coast at Birch Bay. We returned home about four hours after we left, and Dylan was sleeping soundly. It was the first time that we had left Dylan, and four hours was about as long as we could stand it.
